Finally Committed

To a day...
Wednesday is the day. 26th. Brents favorite number. He was always #26 in football, and always plays black 26 in roulette. Not that I really picked it, the Dr just kinda called and made an appointment for me. Crazy. One more day of being pregnant, then shave my legs, take my toddler to her aunts, and go in to have a baby! Wish me luck, and peace of mind, and a good nights sleep, and...

We will keep you all posted! Now, time to think of some names!

too mad

ok, for the 2nd time I have gotten all the way to the bottom of my post, edited and gone to publish and it DISAPPEARS! I am too mad, and have waisted the last hour writing only to have it gone. I even made sure to "save now" at least every few minutes!!!!

Is anyone else having this problem?

Every Excuse

Not to be ready. Don't get me wrong, plenty of things are making me uncomfortable, but overall I LOVE to be pregnant, and even now at (almost) 39 weeks, Im not ready to commit to it being over. Every week the Dr asks if I want to be induced on the 24th (3 days, gulp) and I, well, hmm...I don't know? Its not only that I love being pregnant, (and the thought now is that this is my last time,) but also...well, my house isn't perfect, I need A LOT more Hadley time, still haven't bought a nursing bra, need a pedicure, um...what else? My last day of work is TOMORROW, and frankly, I want to sit around and bake COOKIES for awhile! Also, newborns are SO EASY to take care of when they are still in the womb! And I have to admit, newborns make me nervous, on top of the fear of baby blues/postpartum, up all night, nursing (ee gads!) being in a sleep deprived funk and getting mean and ornery with my 2 year old...Oh the thoughts. Mom told me I think too much. Yes.

So, I saw this somewhere, and am copying it for today. 10 things I love:
1. Crystal Light. Im telling you, this is like crack. Make a big pitcher, then fill your ice cube trays with it and let freeze. Later that day, a glass full of crystal light ice cubes, topped off with more crystal light, and I can sit and chomp like a cow all night long!(my favorite is cherry pomegranate)
2.My emotional roller coaster that was a rocking chair. Ok, so the chair itself, not so emotional. But on a feeling lousy, very emotional day I tried to be spontaneous and pick out fabric. 50 bucks later, and a material store that no longer welcomes toddlers, I was home not liking the material I had picked out. So the same day I ordered more, and honestly had to FORCE myself to use the 2nd fabric, because I was ready to drive 30 miles to go pick out a 3rd batch! But I am so so happy with the results:

Chopped the legs off a little table and added foam for a foot stool:
3. Bowling with our 2 year old: I have been getting very sentimental toward Hadley this week, and want to spend every minute with my little buddy. Lots of Mom and Dad time before new baby:

4. Having my carpets cleaned. Love it!
5. My SIL Kari, for taking the time to snap these wonderful pictures:

6. Fall! Just around the corner...I am hating earlier sunsets, but can already imaging the smell of leaves, and can't wait for PUMPKINS! And halloween will be so fun this year, Hadley already is talking so much about witches and monsters. And I can't wait to try this little hat out again:
7. The thought that this hell called HEARTBURN is only a week away from relief!
8.Nesting. Unless you ask my husband, who would just call me a mean, bossy witch! But really I love having everything organized perfectly, folding all the little onesies, putting things just where they should be. And waiting. And getting a full nights, uninterupted sleep. (except bathroom breaks and waking up just to roll over)
9.ok, Im at a loss. See, I had written all this once before, then lost it all. Now I can't remember 9 and 10. But, starting to see a baby pattern!
Ok, remembering. 9. The wrapping paper I put in the frame, just waiting to meet the lil' girl so we can decide on a name to go in it!
10.Pipe Cleaners. Ok, I'll just throw that out there. My last #10 isn't coming back to me, and a while ago I spent 70cents on a package of pipe cleaners. Entertainment for the whole family!
****
On a different note, we lost someone recently that was dear to our hearts. When my husband was an early teen, his dad remarried. He spent many weekends with his step-family working on their ranch in a little town called Scipio. His step-grandfather, Marden Stone, was dear to him, and responsible for my husband love of horses, and love of the smell of cow dung (totally serious!) Marden went missing a couple of weeks ago, and wasn't found for 4 days. The family has been through a hard time, but it is amazing to see the little miracles that come out of such a tragedy. Anyway, my SIL Jocelynne has written 2 blog posts about it. You can find her blog on my sidebar, if you are interested read the stories, she is a much better writer than I. (I would link to it, but can't get IT TO! Oh the problems I am having today with blogger!)

A Sweet Finish

Finally I have finished my sweetest project this pregnancy. My mom passed down an old chenille bedspread that belonged to my Great Grandmother Afton to me a few years ago, and it has been hiding in my cedar chest since. I love to cuddle it, but don't really ever see myself using it as a bedspread. Well when we found out we were having a girl and were talking about names, my grandma Afton has been on my mind a lot. She is one of my sweetest memories, always sneaky with her sweets, and I was her little dancing girl. Once or twice a year we would go to Monroe to stay with them, and that started my love for small, dirt road towns. Both the name Afton and Monroe have been in my top 4 names for this baby...but we'll see. And to make the project sweeter, 3 other cousins, also grandchildren of Afton, have all been expecting (or already birthed) little girls. Mom wrote a post HERE about more of my grandmas quilts.
BEFORE: the original bedspreadAFTER:3 pillows for Ruby, Cambell and Baby Pederson (Quincy? due in Sept) and a little snuggle heart for my momAnd my sweet baby girls new old baby blanket that was once her Great Great Grandmothers:

Lovin it...

Ok, not to start off on a negative note, but just as I went to spell check and publish, I lost my whole post except the first paragraph. Here we go again, hopefully my extra frustration doesn't weigh in too much on my 2nd round of writing.

So I am FINALLY seeing a little progress in the nursery. I have been grumbling and whining about how nothing is getting done, and to be honest it seems like everything I do turns into a long, drawn out disaster, taking 3 times as long as should be! But, there is a faint light at the end of this nesting tunnel, along with a 20 day dead line.
Today I went into the Dr, and the baby is finally head down (phew, even though I wasn't too worried) and she says to let her know by next week if I want to be induced on the 24th. Eek. Seems weird to me, just saying "You will be born this day." What if I'm not ready by then, if the carpets aren't cleaned, if I haven't loved Hadley enough? Is that a good day? Should I google it and see what celebrities, serial killers or presidents were born that day? Its a Monday, maybe I want to come home on a weekend...too much pressure. Why can't I be normal and just have my water break somewhere embarrassing (I mean be somewhere public, not the location on the body of my water breakage, which is also embarrassing.)
My head is spinning with all I need and want to get done in such a short time, and it seems Hadley is picking up on my nesting. Every time I leave her alone long enough, she is collecting and piling, making herself little homes all over the house. The other day Brent was in the hot garage spray painting and happened to walk by her. "Daddy, you sit wif me?" Well, he did and within 30 seconds he was asleep, and she was nesting on his head. And everytime I get out a project to work on, there is my lil buddy wanting to do it all herself (rather annoying to a mom just wanting to get it out of the way!) Painting our new TIME OUT stool. And the finished, clumpy project.

I am loving the way the nursery is turning out, too. Girly, but not pink and fluffy all over. I couldn't resist buying this cute flannel to make her a big recieving blanket, and I almost like the way the back turned out better!Revamped the night stand, new burp clothes, nursing supplies and if ever we settle on a rocking chair, that will go here too. This diaper bag makes me so happy, from my long time boss at Wild Style, Andrea. Also making me happy are these cute new friends I made, tutorial on Martha Stewart
Example one of things not going good the first time around. This dresser was given to us (free, yay!) but sat in our garage untouched. Finally I spent 3 long, hot, sweaty days priming, painting, lining the drawers...Only to pull it inside and realize it reaks of smoke. I can't put baby clothes in there! So back outside, my lovely husband primes and paints the guts of it, then I have to yet again touch up the paint, only to reline the drawers, have it not stick, and turn around and line them for a 3rd time with wrapping paper and mod podge, and totally ignoring all the wrinkles that came along with it!
Cute wrinkly lined drawers...Made the bumper pads.
Front and back of little pillow, waiting for my glider rocker, too.

I realize now looking at this picture that the frame is a bit off center. I am hunting for the perfect paper or material to frame in here, and when we name her I will add that too. This frame is one of my favorite things in the room!
Wow, longest post ever...And more projects to come. Hopefully they will be finished before this baby is ready! I would like to have at least a good week to sit and enjoy Hadley, bake, freeze dinners and just wait. Patiently.
