An attempt at being on the ball...

This month has been so crazy. When I haven't been working, I have been cleaning, shopping, cooking, partying, or dealing with yet another temper tantrum. Not to mention a toddler with croup, trying to make some homemade Christmas presents (still not done, hoping to get some time today!) Plus a little MORNING SICKNESS (surprise!) along with some sleepiness, forgetfulness, and a partridge in a pear tree!

I am about 7 weeks pregnant, surprising even for me. I faced some fertility issues with Hadley, so number 2 so quickly has thrown me all out of sorts. I know it's early to tell everyone, but I am horrible at keeping things to myself, which probably is what got me in this situation! Ok, bad joke.

Christmas was so hectic! We made 6 stops, 113 miles, and 13 hours away from home. Forgot our camera, Hadley didn't get much of a nap, woke with a slight fever, and we rushed from house to house to house. I was hoping she was going to be so exciting and fun this year, and to a certain extent she was. But we also got a lot of hitting, "MINE!", "Haddie do it", and of course "NOOOO". Poor baby Noah didn't really stand a chance against her.
Sledding at Grandma Whiteys house on Christmas Eve:

Christmas Morning:
Her in her princess dress up kit. I was dreading buying it, but she has been so funny cloppin around in those plastic shoes and sideways tiara!
And some more funnies:This is what I get when I put an ornery baby in a timeout in her crib, when she knows how to undress herself.Sorry, I know this one is sideways and I can't figure out how to rotate it. New camera.

Kare Bear

Happy Birthday to KARI!!!
We have been so lucky to see this teeny bopper grow into a beautiful, angel of a WOMAN? (I am not quite there myself, though I am *gasp* a little older!) She has been our saving grace as of late, she was my go-to with a fussy baby since she is a PRO, and I love the way she loves my Haddie. Married to my stinky baby brother, and mommy to my two sweet and sassy nieces Payton and Paige.

Kar, I really, truly, sincerely hope you have a wonderful day of birth. Love you always.

***********************************
Things have been a little wacky lately, I have not had much time to post. But I would like to share my new Christmas Tree Skirt...

I was due for shatterproof decorations, so I went with all new colors. Hadley was so so helpful! But since then she has tried her little heart out to be helpful, and brings me at least 3 ornaments a day off the tree.

I wish I had a really long neck

Happy Happy 4th Birthday to sweet Evan.
You are so special to us all, even if you had a really long neck!

(as he said while looking at the supersaurus dinosaur)

Hope your cake is chocolate, and doesn't melt!

(He wished we could have his party outside at Castle Park, so his cake won't melt!)

102 now 103

Yes I gained a pound. Stupid Turkey.

Ok, I can't fool you. I just logged in to blogger and it said 102 posts, so this makes 103! Wow that is a lot of nonsense writing. And so much more to come...

I have been lost in dust bunny land for awhile, cleaning, working, cleaning, crying along with more cleaning. I had one of my best EVER girlie friends in town from Colorado. BFF Lori and her roomy Sarah came to light up my routine. We spent much time with other BFF Tiff Twighlighting (twice!), shopping, and going out too late and reminding me that I am not as young as I once was... (Picture stolen from Kari) Lori, Sarah, Me and Preggers Tiff. It's crazy that I don't see my friends(near or far) for awhile, but we pick up where we left off being silly and knowing each other TOO well.
This year for thanksgiving, we ate once at Garth and Vickie's (Brents Dad and Stepmom,) once at my little brother and SIL's house (thank you kari, it was wonderful) and this year we volunteered to have Brents side of the family over for Thanksgiving on Sunday. That's the way to go, I tell ya. My house was cleaned, my husband man handled the turkey, all I did was open 6 or 7 cans for a casserole and olives, set the table (fancy paper plates), ate my weight in sweet potatoes, kept most the leftovers, and just put the dishes away while my MIL and GrandmotherIL hand washed all the dishes! Everyone helped clean up before they left, Hadley could be lost in her own room throwing her fits, it was rather nice! Everyone crowded into my formal dining room...OH! I mean office...This year I have been somewhat humbled, and I am thankful for my husbands stable job, our health we take advantage of, my sweet sassy baby who has learned "thank you" and repeats it in her squeaky little voice melting my heart, and all of my dysfunctional wonderful family, who would do anything for us. Life is good, please do not be fooled by my mood swings.
Every thing we need to know we learn from our children, such as: Keep your skin baby soft with daily facial masks of lunch. Chili, for that matter. Fountain of Youth right there...

Happy Birthday Mom. You know how much I love you. Oh and Haddie says Happy To You, too.

New Me

Old Me: Driving in the car with friends before thanksgiving cussin at the houses with lights up (and on). REMEMBER THANKSGIVING PEOPLE!

New Me: I should get my lights up before it gets too cold. I work so hard to decorate it, one month of enjoyment just seems too short!

Old Me: Mom, no one cares what your house looks like. Why do you clean so much before people come over? They aren't looking at your baseboards.

New Me: Company coming this weekend, starting with blinds, then baseboards, walls, cabinets organized, vacuumed, carpets cleaned. Christmas decorations up by then? Think I should do some touch-up painting?

Old Me: I am going to work so hard to get my child to eat healthy food. I do not want a picky eater!

New Me: Sure, honey, you can have a sucker for breakfast. You get all your calories from your milk anyway, right? Here, snack on these greasy chips while you watch Barney for the 3rd time. Make sure to rub them into the carpet good, I want to get my moneys worth when we clean them this weekend!

Forgot to post this...

Mom posted this movie earlier today, and I can't believe this is my bug. She will be 2 years old soon, and she looks more like a little girl every day. Thanks mom, this made me smile (cry a little too, but mostly smile...)I love the way she used to slurp up her noodles. Now I am lucky if she eats anything but CANDY! Just thought I'd share, to give you the urge to kiss chubby little faces!!!

sweets

First of all, Happy Birthday to Jennifer!! Check out Skunk Hollow to see her cute baby picture, and next to it her mini-me, Noah...She is beautiful, wonderful, and sassy enough to keep JD in his place. Happy Birthday Jennifer!

This is the sweetest thing...
Little Haddie and Olivia are the sweetest little friends. Hadley follows her around, holding hands, and occasionally getting her with the baseball bat (sorry oli!) We went to this fun gym, Kangaroo Zoo, by my house on Tuesday. Alex went with us and was so cute with the girls, helping them through the mazes.

My sad, sweet child has been sick all week, high fever and soar throat, up in the middle of the night screaming, crying, saying "ouwie" over and over, bringing her mommy to tears also. But she is finally feeling better, but Grandma Whitey felt so sad for her she bought her new Elmo Jammies. She loves them, but it brought on quite the little tantrum when I couldn't get elmo on the television (NOW!). I blow dried her hair for the first time, kinda sweet looking...And some other cuties...

We are off to Thanksgiving #1 out of 3. Hmm. Thats a lot of turkey. That is a lot of family...

Oh orange velvet, how I love you....

First of all, I have decided to change my sight name. Not the URL link, just trying to get my last name off of this blog. I hope this doesn't screw up your links to see me, I am just getting a little paranoid:)

I am going thrift crazy! Something has snapped inside me and all I want to see is avocado green, mushroom ceramic wall hangings and vintage needlepoint! Not to mention I am craving a good long venture into every clothing consignment store in the valley...Etsy has held me over for the long weekend, and I did find these delights...
(wow these pictures are HUGE)
I wonder if I would weigh less on this because it's so rad!!!And OH! Looky. I found my moms dishes on etsy too...She has always complained about these, saying her sister made her register for them before her wedding, but I have always found them wonderfully cute. And I actually smashed some of them up and put them in my dish-mosaic dining room table...
Before:

After:

And this I found to be so sweet, and baby saw it and pointed to the two fairies, saying "haddie, paigey." Oh could she be any more sickening sweet...

You want more? I'll give you more.
So completely unsatisfied by window shopping online, I forced my hubby to take me to the thrifty store. DI. stinky but adventurous! These are going somewhere in my house...Check out the cool fake quilt border...Mom told me I had to post these before I put them away for the season. One desperate day with cheap acrylic paints...This chair was left cold and alone inside, but since I moved it out I have loved it immensely..This is supposed to say FAMILY. I have the F and the A, and am taking this down, because my toddler won't leave it alone. So if anyone wants it, come and get it. I just put photographs on it with that blue sticky putty stuff.
These are going up in it's place. Yes I know, abc's. Weird, huh? But I kinda like it...

And for those of you who read this blog to hear the latest about my sweet, busy toddler and not my keen sense of decorating, I give you this...
Hadley was so lucky and got to go to see Madagascar 2 with her mommy and daddy. 20 minutes into it she was bored with the sprite, popcorn and gigantic lollipop, and was screaming so loud that everyone in the theater could hear her, and stare. 30 minutes into it we were walking up and down the hall, and after about 45 minutes we left the theater completely. 50 minutes into it she was dead asleep in her car seat. Oh, cute, Huh?

No words for a Title...

Brent and I went to a Halloween Costume Party on Saturday as...Christmas. We took cookies, candy canes, egg nog, candy wrapped in holiday paper, and Christmas glasses as party favors. I also did the hostess a favor and decorated her mirrors and windows with cheap, ugly window decals. Needless to say, we were called "the Grizwalds" all night and won best costume!

Other Juicy Events in my life:
*I Moved into the new salon over the weekend. Tuesday we open for business with a sleek, updated look. I will take pictures just before the open house next week, and post them for you to see.
*Twighlight obsession continues...I asked (almost begged) my hubby to learn to play the piano. Nope. My BFF, expecting a baby boy, is I-kid-you-not considering Jacob as his name. Her husband is of mexican descent, so her babies are warm & brown, and strangely howl at night.
*This weekend was wonderful. I love, love, love fall, and this weekend was the perfect picture of it. It was rainy, cool and crisp. The colors all over, but especially in Farmington were so bright and wonderful, I couldn't get enough of it. I loved the bright leaves on the grass in yards and all over the roads, the pumpkins still around, and the yummy sandwiches and soup we had for dinner last night!!

Back for More...

These are pictures of my beautiful baby (can I still call her that?) from today on Lagoon Trail....

Just had to share.

Also, another smile I wanted to share...My neice wrote me this cute email, and it has kept me giggling all night...
"hi kacy this is payton im at gramos house and i am haveing fun and i hope your haveing fun and can you asck brent how was his fishing go for me and tell hadly is doing and paige wonits to have a sleep over your house"

*update*
I wrote niece back, telling her "Thank you for writing me, you made MY WHOLE DAY!!!"

this was her darling response..."hi kacy i just got on the cumputher and sens this is my first time writing to my family and its fun and just looking at the bord of pickshers in the cumputher room and paige is palying with grandma and they our cooking eggs"

giggles...

This is getting Embarrassing...

I need a life.

I just made this picture the wallpaper on my computer....
Am I really that bad? I mean, I'm 27! Brent says, "Who is that"?" when he saw it.
"Duh, Edward..."
"Your funny." That's all he said. your funny. huh. Then I felt a little guilty when I realized, if he had a picture of some girl hot character on his computer as his background, I would probably come unglued! But...it wasn't enough to make me change it!

This is nearly topping my fascination with Heath Ledger dying last winter. That REALLY hit me.

Wow. I'll quit talking about it now.

Strangely I can't think of anything else to write. This is almost getting as long as Grandmas post! Lets see...

*For those of you interested, the Salon I work at will be moving in a few weeks, opening at the new location November 4th. We will have an open house on November 12th, in the evening... Kind of exciting!!
*I love the fall. The colors, the leaves, the smells, the pumpkins. This time of year makes me homesick for Monroe, where my great grandparents lived. Every year we would go to their house for the deer hunt, and I was always sure to pack my leotard so I could dance for my Great Grandma. Im sure everyone just would laugh at me, but I thought I was so good at dancing...Until my dad started tickling me, routinely, to the point of flatulence on my part...embarrassing...

4 years ago sometime this week, Brent proposed to me. I really wanted to get married in the fall, but I am starting to cherish the memory of our fall engagement. I had thick, long extensions in my hair, (I tell you this, because I find it strange he proposed when I had wonderfully long, feminine hair. hmm.) He told me we were going out to breakfast with his parents, which was a normal activity for us. But when he mentioned I had to get "dressed up" I grew a little suspicious, and more-so when I asked where we were going and he made up a weird name. We ended up going to La Caille, and they sat us alone at a quiet little table. When they brought out our drinks, they also brought a dozen roses. Immediately Brent got up and came over, down on one knee, and the funniest thing happened. I got so embarrassed! He talked a little, something like "the rest of my life..." and all I remember saying was "YOUR SUCH A NERD!" and feeling like GET UP! Well, I did manage to get out a "yes" and we somehow managed to eat a little bit of breakfast.
After breakfast, we walked around the restaurant grounds (I was still expecting to see someone I knew at this point, hiding in the bushes?), seeing peacocks, the winery, and all the wonderful gardens, my stomach kind of sunk when I thought about my parents, nervous is more the word... Brent had earlier that week mentioned in passing "talking" to my dad, but since we were all out of order, he hadn't done this yet. So we went back the the apartment, and he showed me a practice talk he had written. I still have it somewhere, it is very sweet and slightly funny to read.
Anyway, Dad didn't make it a very comfortable talk for Brent, poor guy. Wouldn't even sit down, and then after he listened to Brents whole, practiced speech, he made him go ask Mom instead. I'm really surprised he didn't call over my brothers to make them give their opinions on the matter, just to give the poor guy even more intimidation...

Anyway, another sweet memory I have of fall, along with many pumpkin parties, forced chili eating before Trick-or-treats, and today we are going here...and I bet it will be so beautiful...

I am a Cullen...

Finally, but not through marriage to Edward (sigh...)
I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!
I took this test, and it didn't tell me what I wanted. It said "You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things."
Well, now that I think of it,that doesn't sound that bad, I probably am more the mother.

Nothing in particular...

I have been ho-hum (burned out) about my computer lately, trying to avoid it like an addictive drug. Once I start, I am pulled in, suddenly still in my jammies at 2pm when the baby wakes up from her nap. This is not good for my part-time SAHM image. So blog land has been somewhat neglected, sorry folks...

That and I am finding that I am rather boring to hear from...with nothing really in particular to say...Maybe I will list it today...

My loves:

*Hadley has learned to say "Haddie Do it" as in "I will do it myself you had better leave me alone or I will scream until you eyeballs burst." Has anyone seen Starsky & Hutch? Brent and I have been laughing at her all weekend, because she sounds like Ben Stiller, saying "Dew eat" over and over. Giggles, sigh.

*My wonderful Mother put her heart and soul into hosting our annual Pumpkin Party on Saturday. We had such a good time...She has pictures on her blog, also. We ate, ate, pinata-ed, pumpkin picked, ate, and loved and visited with each other...

Thank you Mom, we had such a wonderful time. Your grandchildren will have great memories of the fun traditions you create.
*HALLOWEEN!!! Here is a little sneak peak...I put her in her costume this morning, and she HATED IT!! Well, I can't show you all of it, I like to keep the cuteness a surprise, so consider this a teaser...
*One more picture to post...My silly niece is in ballet, and LOVES to pose, and pose, and pose some more. Well, after a little dress-up and my house, I couldn't resist snapping these picts. What a GOOF!!
